Activities

LMMU is involved in a number of activities, which are aimed at fulfilling its Mission. They are all based on Christian teachings and values. Our ministry activities include:

BIBLE CORRESPONDENCE COURSE:
The Ministry runs a non-denominational Bible Correspondence Course. The ultimate goal of this course is to enable those who participate in it get to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. It covers major Christian themes like: studying the Christian Faith, Issues of Faith, Growing in Faith, and Living in Faith. On completion of this course people are awarded with certificates and diplomas depending on the stage.
There are over 24,000 Ugandans from all parts of the country who are currently participating in this course.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH MINISTRY:
The Ministry reaches out to hungry souls in urban areas like Kampala, Jinja and Mukono through its community outreach programs. These programs consist of visitation groups formed at district levels to reach those who feel rejected, hopeless and spiritually empty. Do not hesitate to call our visitation team we shall be there to minister to you. Over 40,000 people have responded to the gospel through this Ministry. These include suburban gatherings, refugees, schools. Souls are being touched through this wonderful program. Areas that have been visited in Kampala among others include: Buziga, Kisugu, Bbunga, Ggaba, Kabalagala and Kansanga.
Film & Video Outreach Rallies (RURAL OUTREACH MINISTRY)
The Rural Outreach Ministry is conducted through Film and Video Outreach Rallies. These outreach rallies are an important component to the ministry of LMMU because they ensure that the majority of the populations will be reached and drawn to Lord Jesus Christ. As a priority for utilizing film and video ministry we reach a large segment of the illiterate population with the Good News and life of Jesus Christ as well as films on contemporary issue addressed with Christian solutions. They see the story on the large screen and hear the translated message in their own language. 800 to 1,000 people attend each rally. These rallies are organized mainly in rural communities and some schools on weekends each month. Over 50 communities have been visited and Churches have been established and many people have been referred to the church through these programs. This is the most effective ministry program reaching the illiterates.
MUSIC AND DRAMA MINISTRY:
LMMU also reaches out to people with the love of Christ through traditional media using gospel music and drama. Live drama and rich gospel songs will not leave your soul thirsty. You may consider renewing your commitment if not for the first time with Jesus Christ. For the already committed, it is a source of strength for your faith. The Ministry invites those who have talent and a call in this area to join our groups in your area.
TELEVISION MINISTRY:
We air special TV programs, which share the true meaning of Christmas and Easter for all age groups. Many people’s souls are touched with such kind of information every season.

DISTRIBUTION OF CHRISTIAN READING MATERIALS:
Free Christian tracts like Divorce, Bibles, For Better for Worse are distributed out to those people who request for them. Feel free to request for any booklet of your choice.
CHRISTIAN COUNSELING:
We live in a real world with people having a number of stressful problems in that they fail to cope on their own. For this reason we offer free Spiritual counseling on any spiritual problem.
Please feel free to drop in any time for counseling and our professional counselors will be ready to help you out.
HIV/AIDS Ministry (AIDS Care and Support Project)
The 'AIDS Care and Support Project' initiative seeks to move the Lutheran Media Ministry Uganda (LMMU) and the Lutheran Church Mission in Uganda (LCMU) from silence to action as an initiative to bring hope to the People Living With HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) and the affected people in Iganga, Jinja and Kampala districts of Uganda with intentions to expand countrywide in the future.
